Round 1 The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. A stiff elbow looks to have Tatsuo Shimedzu dazed. "Rushdown" works to Tatsuo Shimedzus back while standing. "Rushdown" throws a couple of outside shots until Tatsuo Shimedzu is able to work his way back to the clinch. Ian Robbins takes Tatsuos back standing. Tatsuo isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Ian Robbins lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Tatsuo to release. A jab from Shimedzu is blocked and a cross is returned by Ian Robbins. Tatsuo hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Ian connects with a strong right hook. Tatsuo Shimedzu winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Tatsuo connects with jab cross combination. Tatsuo Shimedzu sends Robbins to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Tatsuo Shimedzu sits up in Ian Robbinss open guard and spins to an leg lock. Robbins is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Tatsuo Shimedzu snaps back the head of Ian Robbins with a stiff jab. Tatsuo Shimedzu shoots in on Ian who sprawls well and lands multiple outside strikes. Tatsuo Shimedzu gives up on the shot and rolls to his guard. Tatsuo Shimedzu begins to work the rubber guard. Tatsuo Shimedzu sinks a kimura fromt he bottom but cannot finish. He rolls Ian Robbins over to gain mount but Ian Robbins is able to achieve half guard with a great scramble. Tatsuo Shimedzu releases the kimura. Ian Robbins uses the planted arm of Shimedzu to push off and get back to guard position. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Tatsuo Shimedzu attempts a striking combination, but Ian Robbins forces the clinch. Robbins works to Tatsuos back while standing. Robbins throws a couple of outside shots until Tatsuo Shimedzu is able to work his way back to the clinch. Ian takes the back of Shimedzu who works for a kimura. Ian pulls his arm out of the hold and push Shimedzu away. Tatsuo lands a jab, but it is returned by a sick uppercut from "Rushdown". Tatsuo throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Robbins is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Tatsuo dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Robbins blocks a hook cross combo but is pushed backward. Tatsuo Shimedzu tries to press the action but is met with a jab-cross then an uppercut that puts him to on the floor. Robbins lays into Shimedzus thighs with some well timed kicks while Shimedzu is grounded. Round 3 is finished.
