Round 1 Shi keeps Hyeonjoon Hwang at a distance with some well timed jabs. Shi takes down Hyeonjoon, but remains standing over him. Shi Gao hovers over Hwang pushing his legs to the side and throwing punches down at his body and head. Hwang sends a hard up kick that rocks Shi Gao. Hwang stands back up. Hwang attempts a takedown but slips, and Gao backs away. Gao is standing over Hwang. Shi attempts to drop a fist on Hyeonjoon Hwang, but misses and lands in his guard. Hwang gets his arm underneath the neck of Shi Gao while putting his opposite arm on the back of the head. Shi Gao powers out of the attempted choke. Hwang works the rubber guard on Gao, eventually allowing an omaplata to be set in. Gao quickly taps out.
