Round 1 Both fighters begin to exchange Martin catches "The Record Padder" with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets "The Record Padder" gather himself. "The Record Padder" says he is ok and the fight continues. Marty Martin connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Balsiger throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from "Fartin" puts Balsiger on the mat giving his back up. Marty Martin slides off to the side of Josua and lands several heavy knees into his ribs. Before he can lose the position, Marty Martin switches back to full back control. Balsiger starts to wiggle out of back control, Martin lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Marty dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Marty Martin stuffs a shot from Balsiger and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. "Fartin" connects with numerous jabs to the face of Josua. Balsiger connects with a jab cross combination. Marty connects with numerous jabs to the face of Josua Balsiger. Balsiger throws a cross that easily dodged by Marty. Josua shoots but Marty Martin stuffs it, eventually working in a whizzer and landing some sharp knees that allows him to move to side mount. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Balsiger lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Marty Martin. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Marty takes the back of Balsiger who works for a kimura. Marty pulls his arm out of the hold and push Balsiger away. Marty connects with a strong right hook. "Fartin" connects with a series of punches forcing Balsiger into a clinch. Martin drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Josua Balsiger sets a guillotine choke but Martin slips out at the last moment. Martin is now caught in guard. "Fartin" attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Balsiger slips out of it at the last moment. Marty Martin frees a leg and moves into half guard. "Fartin" presses his foot onto the thigh of Balsiger to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. "Fartin" lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Balsiger almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment.Round 3 comes to a close.
