Round 1 Both fighters begin to exchange "Bob and Throb" catches Nachito with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Nachito gather himself. Nachito says he is ok and the fight continues. Farmer sends Cortez to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Nachito Cortez backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Nachito Cortez continually moves away from Farmer, who stalks him patiently, occasionally landing a jab or cross. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. James grabs the plum and tosses Nachito Cortez to the ground. "Bob and Throb" cannot find an opening to pounce. The ref brings Nachito Cortez back to his feet.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Farmer hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Cortez. Farmer throws a crisp jab, but Nachito Cortez slips it and moves in for the clinch. Nachito Cortez is jockeying for position in the clinch. A stiff elbow looks to have Farmer dazed. James Farmer works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. While tied up, Farmer is met with a hard uppercut. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Nachito Cortez counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. "Bob and Throb" circles Nachito, mixing jabs with body shots. James Farmer connects with a right that puts Nachito Cortez off balance tumbling to the mat, as James Farmer towers over him. James lays into Nachito Cortezs thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Nachito does so. A lazy leg kick from Nachito is caught by James who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Nachito. "Bob and Throb" stands over Nachito, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Nachito cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. James Farmer lays into Cortezs thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Nachito does so. James Farmer connects with a strong right hook. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Round 3 is over.
