Round 1 Manabu Barrio connects with a strong right hook. Manabu snaps back the head of Akechi with a stiff jab. Manabu Barrio reaches down and trips Hiroshi with a beautiful ankle pick. Manabu Barrio dives into back control. Giving up his back, Akechi panics and gives up mount instead. Hiroshi Akechi shifts his head and hips to keep Manabu Barrio off balance and unable to land strikes. Hiroshi gets pummeled by the fists of Manabu. Hiroshi gives up his back in an attempt to escape, but doesn't quite make it. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Manabu plows through Hiroshi Akechi with a driving double leg takedown. A kimura attempt from Hiroshi Akechi is countered by a punch from Manabu Barrio, who then transitions to half guard. Manabu Barrio is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Manabu secures his position. Hiroshi Akechi gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Hiroshi Akechi tries to stand up but Barrio plants him back down with several strikes. Manabu executes a double hand slap to the ears of Hiroshi. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Hiroshi fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Manabu Barrio. Akechi places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Barrio takes Akechis back standing. Barrio lifts up Hiroshi and dumps him on his back, taking side control. Barrio attempts to drop a fist on Hiroshi, but misses and lands in his guard. Barrio dodges a few strikes from Hiroshi and cuts him open with a couple of powerful elbows. Hiroshi Akechi starts to lock a triangle. Barrio postures up and starts to stand up. Hiroshi Akechi lands a stiff upkick, slumping Barrio back into his guard. A deep cut is open up over the eye of Akechi from strikes in the guard. The ref stops the fight so the doctor can look at it. The doctor says he can continue. Akechi attempts an ambar from the guard. Barrio defends it but is switched to mount. The bell signals the end of round 3.
