Round 1 Shuard Ross connects with a series of punches forcing Michi Sayuki into a clinch. Shuard ducks under to the back of Sayuki and hops up getting both hooks in. Shuard applies a deep choke. Sayuki fights off the hands and spins around back into the clinch. Shuard Ross takes the back of Michi Sayuki who works for a kimura. Shuard Ross pulls his arm out of the hold and push Michi Sayuki away. Ross throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Sayuki is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Sayuki winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Shuard Ross keeps Michi Sayuki at a distance with some well timed jabs. Shuard takes Sayuki down to the mat with a good double leg takedown, leading to him standing over Sayuki. Ross stands over Michi Sayuki, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Michi Sayuki cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Shuard throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Michi is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Michi is staggered by a jab to the chin. Shuard connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Shuard Ross is hit with two hard punches to his face. Shuard Ross laughs off the punches. Shuard Ross catches a leg kick from Sayuki, and puts him on the mat. Shuard frees a leg and moves into half guard. Michi sneaks his legs through and uses butterfly guard defense. Shuard is launched in the air and swept over into side control. Michi Sayuki drops some good elbows to the face of Shuard Ross forcing him to give up his back. Round 3 is over.
