Round 1 Branden Cole connects with a hard right hand putting David on the mat. Branden Cole goes down with him into side control. Branden slides his knee across the body of Szalai and takes full mount. Branden Cole maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. David gives his back up trying to escape the mount. David Szalai carefully protects himself from Brandens strikes. "Kumite" lands a series of heavy punches forcing David Szalai to roll to his back, giving "Kumite" mount. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Szalai presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto "Kumite", aggressively pulling guard. Branden Cole frees a leg and moves into half guard. David holds the head of Branden close to avoid shots. Branden slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Cole slips out of half guard and into side control. Branden Cole attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Szalai for his troubles. Branden Cole slides his knee across the body of Szalai and takes full mount. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 "Kumite" fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with David. David Szalai takes Brandens back standing. David Szalai lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Branden is able to work his way back around. Szalai drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Branden sets a guillotine choke but Szalai slips out at the last moment. Szalai is now caught in guard. Szalai tries to pass guard but "Kumite" stops him with a well timed punch. Cole lands a stiff elbow while on his back. "Kumite" connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. David Szalai eats a stiff punch to the face, and is then switched, giving "Kumite" full mount. The round comes to an end.
