Round 1 Urie hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Assis Belfort. A wild hook from Golubev is ducked by Assis who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Assis connects with jab cross combination. Urie Golubev snaps back the head of Assis with a stiff jab. Golubev throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from Assis Belfort. "Thicker Than Oatmeal" connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Urie hunts down his opponent and throws 2 heavy haymakers that get nothing but air. Urie takes in a well composed combination of quick strikes from Belfort. Belfort throws a few jabs at Urie that miss the mark. The fighters circle each other. Golubev throws a powerful left hook, but is met with a strong jab from "Thicker Than Oatmeal". The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Urie gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Urie dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Assis standing over him. Assis stands over Urie Golubev, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Urie Golubev is able to grab an arm and pull Assis into his guard. Golubev is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Assis drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Urie Golubev begins to posture on his side. Assis Belfort lands a couple of outside hooks and Urie Golubev returns to the guard. Urie Golubev slides out from bottom grasping the back of Assis Belfort allowing him to get back control. Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Urie Golubev gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Golubev decides to abandon the clinch by pulling guard and bringing Assis Belfort with him. Golubev attempts an armbar from the bottom, but "Thicker Than Oatmeal" slips out at the last moment. Urie gets his arm underneath the neck of Assis while putting his opposite arm on the back of the head. Assis powers out of the attempted choke.
