Round 1 Satinho connects with a hard punch making Xavier bring him in to a tight clinch. Chico places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Satinho attempts to pull guard, but slips, putting him on the ground, and with Xavier Herrera standing over him. Xavier attempts to drop a fist on Chico, but misses and lands in his guard. Chico Satinho attempts a kimura from the bottom. Herrera blocks the attempt and smothers Chico Satinho who transitions to an armbar attempt. Herrera is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. Herrera is pulled close and is hit with a couple of strong heel strikes to the back. Xavier Herrera drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Xavier Herrera takes advantage of a mental laps from Chico and moves into full mount. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Xavier Herrera parries Chico Satinhos jab and lands a hook. Satinho is staggered by a jab to the chin. Chico Satinho weaves through a jab-cross combo from Xavier but is met with a powerful uppercut that knocks him to the floor. Xavier kicks at the legs of Chico and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Chico to stand. Satinho is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Herrera prepares to pounce, but Satinho gets his bearings just in time. Satinho thrusts his leg into Herreras knee while grounded. Herrera cannot find an opening to pounce. The ref brings Satinho back to his feet. Chico Satinho dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Chico parries a jab but leaves himself open for a uppercut that sends him to the canvas. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Xavier Herrera connects with a hard punch making Chico Satinho bring him in to a tight clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Xavier Herrera escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Herrera parries Chicos jab and lands a hook. Satinho throws a cross that easily dodged by Xavier. Xavier dodges a series of strikes from Satinho and counters with a body shot and cross. Xavier then backs up and wags a finger at Satinho. Herrera connects with a right that puts Chico off balance tumbling to the mat, as Herrera towers over him. Herrera lays into Chicos thighs with some well timed kicks while Satinho is grounded. The bell signals the end of round 3.
