Round 1 Ze Santiago lands a solid kick to the front leg of Mitchell. Santiago narrowly dodges a cross from Mitchell, but falls catching him in his guard. Joe Mitchell tries to move to half guard but Ze uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Mitchell attempts to drop bombs while caught in the guard, but Ze takes the chance to switch Mitchell over to mount him. Ze executes a double hand slap to the ears of Joe. Ze Santiago jumps out of mount and back to dominant side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Ze throws a teep backing Joe Mitchell off. Joe Mitchell pressures his opponent into clinching. Mitchell attempts to grab the plum but Ze takes the opportunity to attain double underhooks and take down Mitchell. Mitchell attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. A left high kick from Joe Mitchell keeps Santiago at bay. Ze attempts to press in on Joe but is met with powerful inside-leg kicks. Mitchell keeps Santiago at a distance with some well timed jabs. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Joe peppers Santiago with a flurry of punches that cannot be kept up with. A trip to the ground allows Mitchell to move into the guard of Santiago. Santiago dodges some ground strikes from Mitchell, and sends a few back of his own. Joe attempts to drop bombs while caught in the guard, but Ze Santiago takes the chance to switch Joe over to mount him. Santiago secures his position. Ze splits Joes nose open with a well timed punch. The round comes to an end.
