Round 1 Gus Lawrence hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Joe Mitchell. Joe connects with numerous jabs to the face of Gus Lawrence. Mitchell connects with a sweeping kick at the leg of Gus. Mitchell lands a double jab. Lawrence throws a cross that easily dodged by Joe. Gus Lawrence is on the receiving end of a good punching combination from Mitchell. Joe Mitchell throws a hard jab but Gus Lawrence throws a cross right over the top that knocks Joe Mitchell to the ground. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Mitchell throws a cross that easily dodged by Gus. A welt begins to form under Joes eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Lawrence. A jab-hook-uppercut combo has Mitchell stepping back and shaking the cobwebs out. Joe Mitchell is dizzied on his feet from a furious punching sequence from Gus Lawrence. Gus Lawrence connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Joe Mitchell catches a leg kick from Gus, and puts him on the mat. Gus Lawrence begins to posture on his side. Joe Mitchell lands a couple of outside hooks and Gus Lawrence returns to the guard. Joe Mitchell drops a few strong punches, opening up Guss guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. Joe telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Gus Lawrence gives up his back to stop the attempt. Gus Lawrence carefully protects himself from Joe Mitchells strikes. Gus starts to wiggle out of back control, Mitchell lets him escape putting them both on their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Lawrence receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Joe. Gus Lawrence takes the back of Mitchell who works for a kimura. Gus Lawrence pulls his arm out of the hold and push Mitchell away. Mitchell parries Guss jab and lands an uppercut that floors Gus. Joe Mitchell hovers over Gus Lawrence pushing his legs to the side and throwing punches down at his body and head. Joe Mitchell waves for Gus Lawrence to stand up. The bell signals the end of round 3.
