Round 1 The fighters circle each other. Aekkaluck Sunan throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. JC is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Sunan hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Bennett. Sunan dodges some straight punches from JC Bennett and counters with an inner reaping, falling into JCs guard as he does so. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 JC Bennett connects with a right that puts Sunan off balance tumbling to the mat, as JC Bennett towers over him. From the ground Aekkaluck Sunan hooks the leg of standing JC Bennett and trips him backwards to the ground. Aekkaluck Sunan quickly goes into the guard of JC Bennett. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Sunan and he traps JC Bennetts extended leg to move to half guard. Sunan slips out of half guard and into side control. Sunan slides his knee across the body of JC and takes full mount. Bennett bucks off Aekkaluck Sunan and both fighters get to their feet. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Aekkaluck takes JC Bennetts back standing. Aekkaluck lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Bennett is able to work his way back around. JC Bennett takes Aekkalucks back standing. Aekkaluck Sunan isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but JC Bennett lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Aekkaluck Sunan to release. Aekkaluck is on the receiving end of a good punching combination from JC Bennett. Bennett connects with a jab cross combination. JC Bennett counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. The round comes to an end.
