Round 1 Fabien lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Charo Cruz. Cruz presses forward, grabbing the plum and lands a strong hook, buckling Marchal to the mat. Cruz stands back and waves Marchal up. Fabien is cut open under the eye by a standing elbow strike. Fabien Marchal throws a cross that easily dodged by Charo. Marchal ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Cruz and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. Round 2 Marchal feints and follows up with a hard cross. Charo Cruz stalks forward paws away with a couple jabs missing the mark. Fabien Marchal circles Charo Cruz, landing jabs at will. Fabien Marchal lands a hook to the body then a straight cross to the sternum. Both fighters begin to exchange Fabien catches Cruz with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Cruz gather himself. Cruz says he is ok and the fight continues. Fabien clinches with Charo Cruz and lands multiple piston shots and short uppercuts to soften up Charo Cruz for a trip takedown, landing Fabien is half guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Charo Cruz tries to hyperextend the knee of Marchal with a kick to the kneecap. Marchal hops back to avoid it. Cruz grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow to the head of Fabien Marchal. Charo Cruz connects with a strong right hook. Charo Cruz lands a double jab. Marchal is struck by some looping punches and kicks and goes for the clinch to shorten the distance. Charo Cruz welcomes the clinch landing a lead knee and a powerful elbow. Then pushes Marchal back to striking distance. Marchal is cut open under the eye by a standing elbow strike.
