Round 1 Gao connects with a strong right hook. Delfino is staggered by a jab to the chin. Zan Gao throws a few jabs at Rivera that miss the mark. Zan loses his balance from a well timed strike, and is awkwardly taken down by Rivera for the mistake. Rivera has side control. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Delfino Rivera hits an uppercut to the head of Zan Gao followed by a hard hook. A couple of powerful body shots forces Rivera back to the cage. Zan swims to double underhooks. Rivera cannot stop Zan from stepping back and taking him to the floor. Delfino Rivera is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Zan Gao pushes down Delfino Riveras leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Delfino holds the head of Gao close to avoid shots. Gao slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Gao attempts to sink a neck crank from half guard. It does not appear to be tight enough as Delfino Rivera gives a thumbs up to the referee until he finally struggles out. Zan is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Zan Gao connects with a strong body shot combo. A wild hook from Zan Gao is ducked by Delfino Rivera who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away.
