Round 1 Powers connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Powers plows through Slade with a driving double leg takedown. Slade Miles lands a stiff elbow while on his back. Slade works for a triangle but Malcolm Powers throws Miless straight leg over his head and makes it to half guard. Malcolm wraps the arm of Slade behind his back and traps it. Malcolm pounds away with shots to the face. Miles tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Slade Miles holds the head of Malcolm close to avoid shots. Malcolm slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 A wild hook from Slade Miles is ducked by Powers who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Slade Miles hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Malcolm Powers connects with jab cross combination. Slade Miles connects with numerous jabs to the face of Malcolm. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Miles takes a punch and goes to the mat, Powers pounces into side control. Miles recovers quickly.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Miles lands a hook to the body. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Malcolm Powers attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Miles pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Powers stuffs a takedown but is backed into a corner and must slide into guard to avoid being picked up. Slade stands up with Powers still holding guard. As Powers releases his guard Slade spins to a kneebar but it is too shallow. Slade takes couple of shots to the head. The fighters scramble to standing position. Slade tries to stop a shot with a punch but Malcolm Powers plows through Slades attempt and ends up in guard. Malcolm attempts to spin to a kneebar but Slade is ready for it. He twists out and scramble to side control. Powers almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. Slade Miles attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Powers for his troubles. Round 3 comes to a close.
