Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Guto lands some solid knees to the legs of Faas Herrema from the clinch. Faas Herrema escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Guto lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Faas Herrema. Guto then switch kicks Faas Herrema on the opposing rib. Herrema is rocked by a standing elbow strike. Faas Herrema throws a hard jab but Cunha throws a cross right over the top that knocks Faas Herrema to the ground. A solid kick bruises the leg of Herrema. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Guto Cunha connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Faas Herrema strikes with a straight front kick. Both fighters begin to exchange Faas catches Guto with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Guto gather himself. Guto says he is ok and the fight continues. Guto takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Faas to hit him harder. Herrema fires a haymaker but misses spinning himself around. Cunha quickly takes his back. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Faas Herrema connects with a hard punch making Guto Cunha bring him in to a tight clinch. Cunha works Faas into the cage from the clinch. Cunha presses his head under Faass chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Herrema escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Cunha connects with a strong body shot combo. Cunha dodges a jab and throws a knee to the midsection of Faas. After dodging a jab-cross, Cunha lands a kick to the liver of Faas Herrema who steps back and begins to take a knee. Cunha rushes forward to capitalize but Faas Herrema stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Herrema is hit with a jab then a hook to the body and stumbles backward. Guto tries to press the action but is met with a push kick from Herrema that puts him on the floor. Herrema throws a short kick to the downed Guto Cunha. Guto Cunha takes the chance to rise back to his feet. The bell signals the end of round 3.
