Round 1 Victor Golias throws a hard jab but Rey throws a cross right over the top rocking Victor Golias. Rey presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Golias, aggressively pulling guard. Rey connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Victor Golias eats a stiff punch to the face, and is then switched, giving Thomas full mount. Thomas secures his position. Thomas postures up and begins to fire off rapid shots from mount but Victor tripods up and sweeps him over to his back. Victor quickly gets himself to mount. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Rey is struck by some looping punches and kicks and goes for the clinch to shorten the distance. Victor Golias welcomes the clinch landing a lead knee and a powerful elbow. Then pushes Rey back to striking distance. Victor Golias unleashes a flurry of punches on Thomas Rey. Thomas Rey throws a cross that easily dodged by Victor. Thomas Rey hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Rey throws a kick to the midsection that is caught by Golias. Golias lands a sweeping leg kick that puts Rey on his back. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Victor Golias locks in a tight muay thai clinch and lands several knees to the ribs of Rey. Thomas takes Victor Goliass back standing. Thomas lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Victor Golias is able to work his way back around. Victor attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Thomas Rey pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. The fighters circle each other. Thomas parries Victors jab and connect with a cross. A wild hook from Victor Golias is ducked by Rey who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. The bell signals the end of round 3.
Round 4 Victor Golias dodges a jab and clinches with Thomas, delivering a knee as he does so. Rey presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Victor, aggressively pulling guard. Victor pulls out of the guard of Thomas Rey, stands up, feels it out, and drops a huge right hand to the jaw of Thomas Rey. Victor Golias defends a triangle attempt, throwing Thomass straight leg over his head and makes a move for side control. Thomas Rey is able to hold him to half guard. Golias drops an elbow onto the forehead of Thomas Rey. Victor presses his foot onto the thigh of Thomas Rey to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. Golias delivers knees to the body and sharp forearms to the head forcing Thomas Rey to turn over. Golias takes the back. Rey starts to wiggle out of back control, Victor Golias lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Thomas is leading with his head during his combos and Golias makes him pay by landing a lead knee to the jaw. Thomas shakes it off as he steps back. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 5 Victor hits an uppercut to the head of Thomas followed by a hard hook. Golias connects with a brutal kick to the liver of Rey who falls to the ground. Golias waves him back to his feet. Rey dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Thomas weaves through a jab-cross combo but is met with a strong knee. Thomas Rey keeps Victor Golias at a distance with some well timed jabs. A double-leg shot is stuffed initially by Golias but Rey is able to muscle through for a takedown, finishing in half guard. Round 5 is over.
