Round 1 Lamberson connects with a hard jab as Coughlen attempts a wide outside hook. Lamberson connects with a hard punch making Coughlen bring him in to a tight clinch. Earl Coughlen works Cael into the cage from the clinch. Earl Coughlen presses his head under Lambersons chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Cael Lamberson attempts a knee but is taken down by a basic trip. Earl lands in half guard. Coughlen tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Earl Coughlen presses his foot onto the thigh of Cael Lamberson to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Both fighters begin to exchange Earl catches Cael Lamberson with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Cael Lamberson gather himself. Cael Lamberson says he is ok and the fight continues. Cael attempts a striking combination, but Coughlen forces the clinch. Coughlen grabs the plum and pulls "1s" face into a powerful knee. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Earl is jockeying for position in the clinch. "1" takes Earl Coughlens back standing, but Coughlen isolates an arm and locks a spinning kimura ending up in side mount. "1" takes a few knees to the body while under Earls side control. Cael Lamberson sweeps over Earl Coughlen and quickly obtains mount position. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 "1" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Cael Lamberson eats a strong cross as Coughlen moves into the clinch. Earl works "1" into the cage from the clinch. Earl presses his head under "1s" chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Coughlen lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Earl Coughlen works to Cael Lambersons back while standing. Earl Coughlen throws a couple of outside shots until "1" is able to work his way back to the clinch. Cael Lamberson attempts a lazy shot from the tie up, Coughlen capitalizes by taking his back. Round 3 is over.
