Round 1 Benny pressures his opponent into clinching. Matthew Murphy lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Matthew Murphy escapes the clinch and creates some distance. "Boom Boom" connects with a jab cross combination. "Boom Boom" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Matthew connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Jones. Murphy parries Joness jab and connect with a cross that floors Benny. Matthew Murphy stands over Benny Jones, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Benny Jones cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Benny circles Murphy, landing jabs at will. Matthew Murphy connects with 1-2 jab hook combo and quickly steps away. Benny hunts down his opponent and throws 2 heavy haymakers that get nothing but air. After dodging a jab-cross, Benny Jones lands a kick to the liver of Matthew Murphy who steps back and begins to take a knee. Benny Jones rushes forward to capitalize but Matthew Murphy stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Benny starts to put on the pressure, forcing Murphy back into the cage. Benny takes advantage and clinches. Benny works Murphy into the cage from the clinch. Benny presses his head under Murphys chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Jones works Matthew Murphy into the cage from the clinch. Jones presses his head under Murphys chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. Matthew gets a trip takedown from clinch and end up in the half guard of Jones. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Matthew Murphy counters a jab with a stiff uppercut. Benny connects with a strong body shot combo. Matthew Murphy throws a cross that easily dodged by "Boom Boom". Matthew unleashes a flurry of punches ending with Benny out cold from a right hook.
