Round 1 Shelton connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Shelton Tate connects with a series of punches forcing Pearson into a clinch. Odell Pearson places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Pearson lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Odell takes Sheltons back standing. Shelton isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Odell lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Shelton to release. Shelton hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Odell Pearson. Both fighters begin to exchange Pearson catches Shelton with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Shelton gather himself. Shelton says he is ok and the fight continues. "The Patriot" hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Tate tries to hyperextend the knee of Odell Pearson with a kick to the kneecap. Odell Pearson hops back to avoid it. Shelton Tate executes a beautiful double leg takedown, putting "The Patriot" to the mat, and Shelton Tate into side control. Shelton Tates knee strike causes Pearson to writhe in pain. Shelton Tate continues with knee strikes, bruising Odells ribs. Shelton Tate then hammerfists Pearson until he taps.
