Round 1 Manuel Cardenas connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. A welt begins to form under Manuel Cardenass eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Vinnie. Vinnie ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Manuel Cardenas to the mat, and his back. Vinnie begins to look for a rear naked choke, but Manuel Cardenas rolls to being mounted instead. Vinnie maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Mitchell secures his position. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Vinnie Mitchell parries "Slap Happys" jab and connect with a cross. Manuel Cardenas hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. The fighters circle each other. Vinnie Mitchell presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Manuel, aggressively pulling guard. "NP" locks a triangle but Manuel Cardenas defends well. "NP" continues the attempt but finally decides to let go. Manuel Cardenass face is red from the choke and sits low in the guard to catch his breath. A tight body triangle from the bottom position forces Manuel to pull Mitchell close. Manuel is having trouble breathing in Vinnie Mitchells guard. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Cardenas throws a cross that easily dodged by Vinnie Mitchell. Manuel throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Vinnie Mitchell puts Manuel on the mat giving his back up. Vinnie lands a series of heavy punches forcing "Slap Happy" to roll to his back, giving Vinnie mount. Manuel Cardenas lands a good elbow as "NP" lowers his torso. Manuel Cardenas gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Round 3 comes to a close.
