Round 1 Rick Evans hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Rick Evans. Browne stands up, lifting the leg of Rick Evans and executing a trip takedown. Rick is cut under his eye by a hard overhand from Browne while utilizing the guard. Rick slides his body to the side and pushes out of guard. Browne grabs a guillotine hold and forces Rick back down gaining side control. Aaron Browne attempts an armbar, but Rick Evans stops the attempt. Aaron Browne uses the oppurtunity to take mount. Aaron splits Evanss nose open with a well timed punch. Aaron Browne secures his position. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Rick gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Aaron takes the back of Evans who works for a kimura. Aaron pulls his arm out of the hold and push Evans away. A welt begins to form under Rick Evanss eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Browne. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Rick Evans connects with jab cross combination. Aaron Browne throws a hard jab but Rick throws a cross right over the top that knocks Aaron Browne to the ground. Evans stands over Aaron Browne, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Aaron Browne cannot trap him in his guard and pushes him away instead. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Aaron throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Rick is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Rick parries Brownes jab and connect with a cross. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Evans connects with a strong body shot combo. Rick Evans dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet. Browne arm drags Rick Evans into a double leg takedown, getting half guard. Round 3 comes to a close.
