Round 1 Misha Saitiev circles Herring, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Saitiev eats a strong cross as Sal moves into the clinch. Herring lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Saitiev gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Misha receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Herring. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Saitiev eats a strong cross as Sal moves into the clinch. Sal Herring has double underhooks, locks across the body, and takes Saitiev down to the mat, landing in great side control. Sal lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Saitiev tries to get back to full guard, but has to settle with half guard. Sal is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Saitiev gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Misha tries to explode out the backdoor but Herring sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. Misha falls flat to protect himself. Saitiev rolls back into being mounted. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Sal Herring parries Mishas jab and connect with a cross. Herring throws a push kick. Misha shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Sal Herrings nose.
Sal Herring connects with a series of punches forcing Saitiev into a clinch. Saitiev escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Saitiev shoots a takedown from a distance putting Sal on the ground. Sal Herring moves to half guard then is able to grab a butterfly guard, eventually working to standing. Misha Saitiev narrowly dodges a cross from Herring, but falls catching him in his guard. Saitiev powers out sweeping Sal with pure strength. Saitiev is now in side control. Herring takes a few knees to the body while under Mishas side control. Herring is wisely defending a kimura. Misha Saitiev attempts to take it but Herring is having none of it, though Misha Saitiev has used the chance the slide into mount.Round 3 comes to a close.
