Round 1 Carl Roberts connects with a series of punches forcing Simmons into a clinch. Carl stomps the feet of Rob. Rob Simmons attempts to grab the plum but Roberts takes the opportunity to attain double underhooks and take down Rob Simmons. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 Rob Simmons winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Rob Simmons throws a push kick. Carl shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Rob Simmonss nose.
Carl ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Rob to the mat, and his back. Carl Roberts lands a series of heavy punches forcing Rob Simmons to roll to his back, giving Carl Roberts mount. Carl Roberts secures his position. Carl Roberts jumps out of mount and back to dominant side control. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Carl Roberts attempts to pull guard, but slips, putting him on the ground, and with Rob Simmons standing over him. Rob Simmons attempts to drop a fist on Carl, but misses and lands in his guard. Rob attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Roberts slips out of it at the last moment. Carl shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Carl Roberts attempts a kimura from the bottom. Simmons blocks the attempt and smothers Carl Roberts who transitions to an armbar attempt. Simmons is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. Carl Roberts is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Rob.Round 3 comes to a close.
