Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Al places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Morin attempts to grab the plum but is tripped to the floor by Al who lands in his guard. Popham drops some elbows from guard, giving him a brief moment to switch over to side control. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Al Popham works to Morins back while standing. Al Popham throws a couple of outside shots until Michael Morin is able to work his way back to the clinch. Al Popham dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Morin standing over him. Morin attempts to drop a fist on Al, but misses and lands in his guard. Morin keeps his head down in the chest of Al to avoid any submission attempts. Morin leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. Michael Morin tries to pass guard but Al stops him with a well timed punch. Popham dodges some ground strikes from Michael Morin, and sends a few back of his own. Popham begins to posture on his side. Michael lands a couple of outside hooks and Popham returns to the guard.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Al throws a few jabs at Michael that miss the mark. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Al Popham ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Morin to the mat, and his back. Michael Morin carefully protects himself from Als strikes. Morin starts to wiggle out of back control, Popham lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Popham circles Michael, mixing jabs and leg kicks. As Al presses forward Morin throws a wild spinning backfist. Al ducks under it and executes a double-leg to gain half guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
