Round 3 Elix Thompson is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Victor Almeida prepares to pounce, but Elix Thompson gets his bearings just in time. Almeida stands over Elix, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Elix is able to grab an arm and pull Almeida into his guard. Victor keeps his head down in the chest of Elix to avoid any submission attempts. Victor leans up and lands some short punches before lowering back down. Almeida passes through Elixs guard into mount. Victor Almeida punishes Elix Thompson with a series of strikes from the mount. Elix Thompson gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Victor Almeida lays into Elix Thompson with some strong shots forcing Elix Thompson to give up mount position. Elix Thompson bucks off Victor and sweeps him over taking side control. The bell signals the end of round 3.
