Round 1 Gonzales connects with a hard punch making Dunn bring him in to a tight clinch. Cory Dunn gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Pablo attempts to pull guard, but slips, putting him on the ground, and with Cory Dunn standing over him. Cory attempts to drop a fist on Pablo Gonzales, but misses and lands in his guard. Pablo Gonzales attempts a kimura from the bottom. Dunn blocks the attempt and smothers Pablo Gonzales who transitions to an armbar attempt. Dunn is able to defend this as well and works back into guard. Pablo Gonzales connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Pablo Gonzales locks a triangle but Dunn defends well. Pablo Gonzales continues the attempt but finally decides to let go. Dunns face is red from the choke and sits low in the guard to catch his breath. Gonzales goes for a kimura from the bottom, but Cory slips out at the last second. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Cory Dunn fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Pablo to the cage. Pablo swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Pablo Gonzales connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Cory takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Gonzaless guard. It doesn't pay off as Gonzales makes his way to standing. Cory Dunn connects with numerous jabs to the face of Gonzales. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Cory Dunn connects with a hard right hand putting Gonzales on the mat. Cory Dunn goes down with him into side control. Dunn attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Pablo for his troubles. Cory postures up and lands a couple of strong elbows to the head of Pablo Gonzales. Pablo Gonzales rolls away from Cory but Cory follows him and takes his back. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Both fighters begin to exchange Gonzales catches Cory Dunn with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Cory Dunn gather himself. Cory Dunn says he is ok and the fight continues. Pablo Gonzales connects with a series of punches forcing Cory into a clinch. Pablo lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Pablo gets a trip takedown from clinch and end up in the half guard of Dunn. Pablo hits Cory with some punches to the side of the head. Cory Dunn is able to work a leg through from the bottom to attain full guard. The bell signals the end of round 3.
