Round 1 Olavo shoots in and executes a textbook single leg takedown, giving him side control. Olavo Lobo slides his knee across the body of Junichi and takes full mount. Lobo punishes Minamoto with a series of strikes from the mount. Lobo telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Junichi Minamoto gives up his back to stop the attempt. Round 2 Olavo Lobo fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Minamoto. Lobo receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Junichi Minamoto. Minamoto attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Lobo pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Both fighters begin to exchange Lobo catches Junichi Minamoto with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Junichi Minamoto gather himself. Junichi Minamoto says he is ok and the fight continues. The fighters circle each other. Both fighters begin to exchange Olavo catches Junichi with an eye poke. Round 3 Olavo Lobo presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Junichi Minamoto, aggressively pulling guard. Lobo is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. Olavo gets his arm underneath the neck of Junichi while putting his opposite arm on the back of the head. Junichi powers out of the attempted choke. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
