Round 2 Julio Artigas hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Ribeiro. Ribeiro throws a hard jab but Julio Artigas throws a cross right over the top rocking Ribeiro. Artigas is staggered by a jab to the chin. Santiago Ribeiro hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Julio Artigas. Julio connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Ribeiro connects with a hard jab as Julio attempts a wide outside hook. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Julio Artigas snaps back the head of Santiago with a stiff jab. Artigas connects with a series of punches forcing Santiago into a clinch. Julio takes Santiagos back standing. Julio lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. Santiago is able to work his way back around. Santiago Ribeiro drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Julio Artigas sets a guillotine choke but Santiago Ribeiro slips out at the last moment. Santiago Ribeiro is now caught in guard. Julio sinks a deep kimura, but Santiago slides out. This gives Julio the chance to switch to half guard. Julio is able to work a leg through from the bottom to attain full guard.
