Round 1 Mau Pena connects with a series of punches forcing Day into a clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Mau takes "A True Warriors" back standing. Dick Day isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Mau lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Dick Day to release. A trip to the ground allows Dick to move into the guard of Mau Pena. Pena fires elbows off his back to the top of the head of "A True Warrior". Pena starts to lock a triangle. Dick postures up and starts to stand up. Pena lands a stiff upkick, slumping Dick back into his guard. Mau attempts an armbar from the bottom, but Dick Day slips out at the last moment. Mau Pena slides out from bottom grasping the back of Day allowing him to get back control. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Pena connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Day. Mau presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Dick Day, aggressively pulling guard. Dick frees a leg and moves into half guard. Mau grabs an overhook and kicks his leg out to snatch an omoplata. Dick rolls over giving up side control. "A True Warrior" sneaks a leg back under the body of Mau Pena to achieve a defensive half guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 "A True Warrior" connects with a strong body shot combo. Mau connects with a series of punches forcing "A True Warrior" into a clinch. Day receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Mau Pena. Dick drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Mau Pena sets a guillotine choke but Dick slips out at the last moment. Dick is now caught in guard. Pena sinks a deep kimura, but Dick slides out. This gives Pena the chance to switch to half guard. While in Z half guard Dick Day tries to pull his arm off the ground but Mau Pena is too fast and uses an arm drag to spin and take his back. Dick Day uses his momentum and rolls him back over and spins in the guard of Mau Pena ending up back in his guard. Pena connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Mau Pena works to the butterfly guard. Day tries to throw a punch but is off balance and Mau Pena shoots up to a standing position. Both fighters trade glancing shots continuing to find their respective range. Mau Pena connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. The round comes to an end.
