Round 1
A trip to the ground allows Marcus to move into the guard of "The King". Marcus tries to pass guard but "The King" stops him with a well timed punch. Nsizwakele backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. Nkosi Nsizwakele tries to hyperextend the knee of Hermansen with a kick to the kneecap. Hermansen hops back to avoid it. Marcus Hermansen hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. An outside leg trip puts Hermansen into side control. Marcus Hermansen drops some hammer fists on "The King". Nkosi sneaks a leg back under the body of Marcus Hermansen to achieve a defensive half guard. Round 1 comes to a close.

Round 2
"The King" throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Marcus Hermansen is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. "The Hound" feints a takedown attempt and connects with a left hook dropping "The King". "The Hound" dives into guard. Nsizwakele locks a kimura and forces Marcus to defend. Nsizwakele settles for a couple of cross-body chops to Marcuss temple. Nkosi attempts to lock in an armbar from the guard. Marcus Hermansen narrowly avoids it, but allows for Nkosi to take mount. "The King" punishes Marcus Hermansen with a series of strikes from the mount. "The Hound" shifts his head and hips to keep Nkosi off balance and unable to land strikes.Round 2 comes to a close.

Round 3
Both fighters begin to exchange Hermansen catches "The King" with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets "The King" gather himself. "The King" says he is ok and the fight continues. Nkosi throws a cross that easily dodged by Marcus. Nsizwakele circles Hermansen, landing jabs and crosses at will. Marcus Hermansen connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of "The King". Marcus connects with jab cross combination. The bell signals the end of round 3.
