Round 1 A welt begins to form under Jamess eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Shelton. Hoo narrowly dodges a cross from Shelton, but falls catching him in his guard. While in his opponents guard Francis powers himself and James Hoo up in the air and slams him down to the canvas. Francis pushes down Hoos leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Shelton Francis is able to slip into mount from the half guard. James gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Hoo starts to wiggle out of back control, Francis lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Both fighters circling one another James Hoo dives in on a leg and quickly locks in on the ankle. Shelton Francis kicks out of it and circles away forcing the ref to wave up James Hoo. James Hoo dives in and wraps up a leg threatening with a leg lock. Francis denies it and transitions into the half guard of James Hoo. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Hoo narrowly dodges a cross from Shelton, but falls catching him in his guard. Francis frees a leg and moves into half guard. Shelton Francis is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Shelton maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. James Hoo gives his back up trying to escape the mount. James Hoo tries to stand up but Shelton Francis plants him back down with several strikes. Francis starts hammering away from dominant back control smashing the head of Hoo into unconsciousness.
