Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Doug Walsh works to Jons back while standing. Doug Walsh throws a couple of outside shots until Jon is able to work his way back to the clinch. Walsh takes "Dustys" back standing. Jon isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Walsh lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Jon to release. "Sham Wow Guy" ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Rhodes and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. Doug Walsh connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Rhodes. Doug throws a flurry connecting with the final punch. Jon Rhodes is rocked and stumbles to the ground but quickly shakes it off. Jon is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, "Sham Wow Guy" prepares to pounce, but Jon gets his bearings just in time. Walsh stands over "Dusty", works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. "Dusty" is able to grab an arm and pull Walsh into his guard. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 A welt begins to form under "Sham Wow Guys" eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Jon Rhodes. Jon connects with a hard punch making Walsh bring him in to a tight clinch. Jon Rhodes drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. "Sham Wow Guy" sets a guillotine choke but Jon Rhodes slips out at the last moment. Jon Rhodes is now caught in guard. Jon Rhodes tries to move to half guard but Doug Walsh uses the opportunity to land several strikes and return to full guard. Jon tries to pass guard but "Sham Wow Guy" stops him with a well timed punch.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 "Sham Wow Guy" connects with a strong right hook. Walsh locks in a tight muay thai clinch and lands several knees to the ribs of Jon Rhodes. Walsh takes "Dustys" back standing. Walsh lands a couple of uppercuts from behind. "Dusty" is able to work his way back around. Walsh directs the head of Rhodes leading to a stiff knee to the face. Doug Walsh works "Dusty" into the cage from the clinch. Doug Walsh presses his head under Rhodess chin so he cannot defend the piston shots from either side. "Sham Wow Guy" pushes Jon Rhodes into the cage. Jon Rhodes works a whizzer and attempts to turn "Sham Wow Guy" but "Sham Wow Guy" illegally grabs the cage for leverage. The referee sees it and breaks the clinch for a restart. Round 3 is over.
