Round 1 Soledad Moreno keeps Makuda at a distance with some well timed jabs. Kazuo eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Moreno. The fighters circle each other. Kazuo Makuda eats a jab,jab, then a hook from Soledad Moreno. Makuda takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Soledad fakes an overhand and is able to take down Kazuo Makuda with a double-ankle pick. Kazuo Makuda can only work to half guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Makuda circles Soledad, mixing jabs with body shots. Makuda stuffs a shot from Soledad Moreno and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Kazuo dodges a few strikes from Soledad Moreno and lands an elbow followed by a hammerfist. Soledad Moreno sinks a deep kimura, but Makuda slides out. This gives Soledad Moreno the chance to switch to half guard. Soledad tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Makuda drops an elbow onto the forehead of Soledad. Kazuo is able to slip into mount from the half guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Soledad Moreno throws a short elbow at Kazuo. Moreno escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Kazuo Makuda is met with a hook cross combo that staggers him. Soledad Moreno explodes with a flurry of punches. Kazuo Makuda is then thrown to the floor. Soledad drops a huge strike to Makudas chin, landing into his guard. Moreno takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Kazuo Makudas guard. It doesn't pay off as Kazuo Makuda makes his way to standing. Kazuo is hit with a jab and then taken down by a beautiful single-leg takedown. Soledad Moreno dodges a few strikes from Makuda and cuts him open with a couple of powerful elbows. Soledad rains down hammer fists. The bell signals the end of round 3.
