Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Rusty receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Chad. Chad Brooks attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Rusty pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. The fighters circle each other. Rusty Brown keeps Chad at a distance with some well timed jabs. Chad is staggered by a jab to the chin. Rusty Brown takes down Chad Brooks, but remains standing over him. Rusty drops a huge strike to Chads chin, landing into his guard. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Brooks throws a cross that easily dodged by Rusty. Brooks stuffs a shot from Rusty Brown and hits him with an outside body shot. Rusty Brown gives up on the takedown and pulls guard. Brown connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Brown sinks a deep kimura, but Chad slides out. This gives Brown the chance to switch to half guard. Chad slams his knee into Rusty Browns ribs. Chad slams his knee into Rustys ribs. Rusty Brown tries to scramble out of half guard, but Brooks takes his back during it. Round 2 comes to a close.

Rusty Brown shoots a takedown from a distance putting Brooks on the ground. Brown takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Brookss guard. It doesn't pay off as Chad makes his way to standing. Chad sends Rusty to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Rusty Brown sets in an omaplata, forcing Brooks to roll through, giving Rusty Brown side control. Brown throws his knee into the ribs of Chad. Rusty Brown lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Round 3 comes to a close.
