Round 1 Vargas parries a jab but is caught by a strong leg kick. Mac throws a cross that easily dodged by Jesu Vargas. Vargas snaps back the head of Mac with a stiff jab. The fighters circle each other. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Vargas takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Vargas drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Mac sets a guillotine choke but Vargas slips out at the last moment. Vargas is now caught in guard. Mac Hayes backs out of the guard after some unsuccessful motions and both fighters are standing. "Violent" throws a kick to the midsection of Jesu. Vargas eats a stiff kick to the face. Vargas is caught square on the jaw putting him to the canvas, Mac Hayes prepares to pounce, but Vargas gets his bearings just in time. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Vargas keeps Hayes at a distance with some well timed jabs. Jesu takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Vargas is met with a strong kick to the ribs. A series of unanswered punches from Vargas forces the ref to stop the action.
