Round 1 Tomas catches a leg kick from Valdez, and puts him on the mat. Manu gives up guard avoiding a powerful hammer fist. He now has half guard. Manu tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Tomas Ruiz slips out of half guard and into side control. Tomas lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Manu gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Tomas circles Valdez, landing jabs at will. Tomas Ruiz circles Manu, mixing jabs with body shots. Manu throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Ruiz puts Manu on the mat giving his back up. Tomas Ruiz lands a series of heavy punches forcing Valdez to roll to his back, giving Tomas Ruiz mount. Manu pulls Tomas Ruiz close to avoid a flurry of strikes. Tomas throws some outside strikes at Manu. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Tomas gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. A strong elbow forces Tomas to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Manu Valdez drops a huge strike to Tomas Ruizs chin, landing into his guard. Tomas lands a stiff elbow while on his back. While caught in Tomass guard, Manu Valdez gets hit with a vicious elbow. Tomas connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Manu Valdez bruises up Tomass face with some double-axe handles. As Tomas Ruiz tries o recompose himself, Manu Valdez take side control. Round 3 comes to a close.
