Round 1 Dexter Griffin fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with "The Serpent". The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Johnson escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Griffin parries Drews jab and connect with a cross. Drew Johnson connects with a strong right hook. "The Serpent" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Dexter Griffin takes down Drew, but remains standing over him. Griffin drops a huge strike to Drews chin, landing into his guard. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Drew Johnson narrowly dodges a cross from Griffin, but falls catching him in his guard. Griffin tries to pass guard but Johnson stops him with a well timed punch. Griffin takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Johnsons guard. It doesn't pay off as Johnson makes his way to standing. Griffin is staggered by a jab to the chin. Johnson is staggered by a jab to the chin. Dexter stuffs a shot from "The Serpent" and lands some powerful outside hammerfists, eventually taking side mount. Drew almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. Griffin slides his knee across the body of "The Serpent" and takes full mount. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 Dexter shoots a takedown from a distance putting "The Serpent" on the ground. Drew Johnson attempts to create some space from his guard, but Dexter sees the opening and passes to full mount. Drew Johnson gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Drew Johnson starts to wiggle out of back control, Griffin lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Griffin fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Drew Johnson to a corner. Drew Johnson swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Griffin passes through Drews guard into mount. Dexter Griffin telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Johnson gives up his back to stop the attempt. Johnson carefully protects himself from Dexters strikes. "The Serpent" rolls back into being mounted. Round 3 comes to a close.
