Masashi Kawabata drops down and thrusts forward with a textbook double leg takedown. Adams attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Vernon grabs the plum and lands a strong elbow that puts Kawabata on the floor. "Venom" drops a huge strike to Kawabatas chin, landing into his guard. The round comes to an end.
