Round 1 "Doomsday" stuffs a shot from Masayuki Kozu and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. A kimura attempt is defended well by Ely and he is able to sneak his leg through Kozus loose guard, to half guard. "Doomsday" is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Ely Ruas splits Masayukis nose open with a well timed punch. "Doomsday" telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but Masayuki gives up his back to stop the attempt. Masayuki Kozu tries to explode out the backdoor but Ely sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. Masayuki Kozu falls flat to protect himself. "Doomsday" tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. "Death" receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. Masayuki Kozu attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Ely Ruas pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Ely circles "Death", mixing jabs and leg kicks. "Doomsday" connects with a strong right hook. Kozu is staggered by a jab to the chin. Ruas takes "Death" down to the mat with a good double leg takedown, leading to him standing over "Death". Ruas drops a huge strike to "Deaths" chin, landing into his guard. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 "Doomsday" circles Masayuki Kozu, landing jabs and crosses at will. Ruas parries "Deaths" jab and connect with a cross. Ely Ruas executes a single leg giving him the back of Kozu. Ruas peppers Masayuki Kozu with several shots to the face. Kozu starts to wiggle out of back control, Ruas lets him escape putting them both on their feet. "Death" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Ruas attempts to press in but "Death" uses a inside reaping to put Ruas on the canvas. "Death" hops to side control. Round 3 is finished.
