Round 1 After dodging a jab-cross, Avel Buturlin lands a kick to the liver of Ross who steps back and begins to take a knee. Avel Buturlin rushes forward to capitalize but Ross stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Ross narrowly dodges a cross from Avel, but falls catching him in his guard. "Bawse" dodges some ground strikes from Buturlin, and sends a few back of his own. James Ross tries to slide out of guard, but a scramble ensues. Buturlin ends up mounted by James Ross. Avel attempts to escape mount but has no luck. "Bawse" maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Ross snaps back the head of Avel with a stiff jab. James stuffs a shot from Buturlin and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. James Ross drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. James Ross pushes down Buturlins leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Avel Buturlin hits an upward elbow on Ross, and attempts to get to full guard. During the scramble though Ross takes side control.Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 "Bawse" fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with "The Creationist". The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. While tied up, Avel Buturlin is met with a hard uppercut. Avel takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. "Bawse" circles Avel, mixing jabs and leg kicks. The fighters circle each other. "Bawse" takes down Buturlin, but remains standing over him. Ross lays into Buturlins thighs with some well timed kicks while "The Creationist" is grounded. The bell signals the end of round 3.
