Round 1 "Big Willy" circles Porier, landing jabs and crosses at will. Thomas narrowly dodges a cross from Clyde Porier, but falls catching him in his guard. Will Thomas dodges some ground strikes from Clyde, and sends a few back of his own. Clyde Porier presses the action while in the guard, but Will is able to switch him into mount. Clyde attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Thomas punishes Clyde with a series of strikes from the mount. The bell signals the end of round 1.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Will escapes the clinch and creates some distance. Will Thomas attempts a takedown, but Clyde Porier clumsily falls down without much provocation. Will Thomas drops a huge strike to Clydes chin, landing into his guard. Will Thomas takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Clyde Poriers guard. It doesn't pay off as Clyde makes his way to standing. Clyde is hit with a jab and then taken down by a beautiful single-leg takedown. While caught in the guard, Will opens up a cut on Clyde Porier with a devestating elbow. Thomas drops some elbows from guard, giving him a brief moment to switch over to side control. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Clyde snaps back the head of "Big Willy" with a stiff jab. Clyde Porier sprawls a takedown attempt from Will. Will eats several punches on the way back to his feet. Clyde ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Will to the mat, and his back. "Big Willy" carefully protects himself from Clydes strikes. Thomas starts to wiggle out of back control, Porier lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Will circles Clyde, mixing jabs with body shots. Clyde sprawls a takedown attempt from Thomas. Thomas eats several punches on the way back to his feet. Round 3 is over.
