Round 1 Davis throws a cross that easily dodged by Curt Ward. Curt Ward shoots a takedown from a distance putting Davis on the ground. Curt Ward attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Davis slips out of it at the last moment. An heel strike attempt is dodged by Ward and he traps Races extended leg to move to half guard. Curt Ward tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Curt Ward slams his knee into Race Daviss ribs. Race Davis tries to scramble out of half guard, but Ward takes his back during it. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Curt snaps back the head of Davis with a stiff jab. Ward attempts a takedown but slips, and Davis backs away. Davis is standing over Ward. Davis lays into Wards thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Curt Ward does so. Ward attempts a takedown but slips, and Race Davis backs away. Race Davis is standing over Ward. Race Davis attempts to drop a fist on Ward, but misses and lands in his guard. Ward is hit with a series of powerful punches while utilizing the guard. Curt throws his leg over for a tight armbar from the bottom. Davis has to tap.
