NEWS: October 2187, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson announced today that he is retiring from MMA at 38 years old after suffering a career ending knee injury. Thompson retires with a record of 25-2, and was the 17 time Heavyweight Champion.

NEWS: October 2186, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson has suffered his 2nd career loss. Thompson lost a close Decision in a fight many feel he won. Jun Kotoku defeats Thompson via Decision. Only time will tell if Thompson gets the rematch for the Glory Heavyweight title.

NEWS: May 2186, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson finally gets his rematch against the only man to beat him, Leo Henderson. Since losing the close decision to Henderson, Thompson has been on a 2 fight win streak, including winning the GEC heavyweight title by defeating John "The Trooper" Cooper via KO (Punch) in the first round, back in March 2186. Thompson won the rematch via Submission, late in the 5th round. Thompson is still the GEC Heavyweight Champion, and moves to 23-1.

NEWS: October 2185, After being away from MMA for 2 years, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson returns and defeats Cali "DBA" Mendez via decision. Thompson moves to 20-0, but some experts say he looked slower in his return. Maybe after he shakes of the ring rust we'll see the real "Death Hammer" in the cage.

NEWS: July 2183, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson has defeated Noah "The Terminator" Landry via Ko (Hook) in the middle of the 3rd round. Thompson retains his Addiction Heavyweight Championship, and moves to 16-0.

NEWS: January 2182, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson has announced he is leaving LEAP as their undefeated 5 time Heavyweight Champion. Thompson said: "There was no one left for me in LEAP. I want to move on with my career, and right now I need to take some time, improve my skills, and come back better than ever.". No word on when or where we will see "The Death Hammer" inside a cage next.

NEWS: July 2181, Almost a year and half later, they meet again! Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson vs. JT "OLYMPIA BRAWPO" Long. Last time they met, Thompson won via Submission (Guillotine Choke) in the 2nd round. That fight was a contender fight for the JNS Heavyweight Championship, but Thompson never got that title shot, and signed with LEAP. Now they meet again for the LEAP Heavyweight Championship. Thompson won via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) in the 1st round. Another impressive win.

NEWS: January 2181, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson is back after a 10 month lay off. Thompson has finally signed with LEAP and on his debut, he once again impressed everyone with another amazing performance. The Death Hammer defeated Slater "AC" Johnson via TKO (Doctor Stoppage) in the first round.

NEWS: March 2180 (part 2), JT Long was ranked #1 in JNS, while the champ Dexter Jenkins was ranked #2, and Thompson #3. When #1 and #3 finally met, Thompson won the fight by Submission (Guillotine Choke) in the 2nd round. Post fight Thompson was denied a title since he officially fought his last fight on his contract with JNS. Thompson is unsure where he will fight next at this point.

NEWS: November 2179, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson was stripped of his JNS title. Thompson is injured and wouldn't be able to return to action this year. No word yet when Thompson will be back, and if it will even be in JNS.

NEWS: January 2179, in only 2 pro fights, Matt "The Death Hammer" Thompson has become champion! Both fights were against Rich "Strainer" Cherry, who was on a 4 fight win streak in JNS until he fought Thompson. Thompson won via submission due to strikes in the 1st round. While Thompson was out injured, Cherry beat Wayne Johnson to earn a title shot. Thompson returned in January and won the rematch via decision, and captured his first title.
