...considered one of the best Heavyweight to never wear any belt (he used to reject title shots not wanting to be tied down to any company) and being considered for the future EFC HW Championship. As it is, he remains - and always will - the first and the best longtime mainstay of the Kremlin Demons, the gentle giant, who would drink, laugh, train and smash his opponents in the cage. A fighter like none other - The Iron Cossack, Leonide "40" Sorokin!

...he would still prove tough enough to go bell to bell to only lose the decision (which he in fact did, out of his 20 defeats, 14 are decisions and out of those 6 are split). In fact in his very last fight he was supposed to be over-matched by his opponent, yet in fact scored his arguably most devastating victory of his career - nearly breaking the man in half in a powerful body triangle in the first 2-3 minutes of the fight. He retired healthy, happy, at the peak of his career and being...

Once he was comfort with the level of his skills (which would never reach the levels of people spending most of their time since they're 16 on practising them), Leonide returned to the cage. And he kept of fighting. A slow starter, when his physical strength wouldn't be enough to overcome his opponent in the first round, he would always have enough toughness to make a crashing come back in the third round - or if he was being beaten from left to right and completely over-matched by his opponen

When starting his career Leonide would be first to admit that he had very, very little skills. Some natural strength, toughness and heart, yet very little speed too. Unsurprisingly that lead to several of his most humiliating defeats including the ignoble "tapping to strikes". But he was all, if not determined. Learning as he fought, 40 has ultimately reach the level of a proper MMA fighter. A towering giant, with a lot of power and toughness, though rather slow and - some would say - clumsy.

40 bottles of vodka have been drunk and than broken in celebration of the MMA career of Leonide Sorokin, affectionately nicknamed by his peers "40". When he first got into the mixed martial game about 11 years earlier, he established some "moderate" goals for himself. a)fight at least 50 times b)win more than lose c)fight in Affliction and win at least once d)win at least 10 Awards. And somehow, mostly due to his sheer toughness and determination, he achieved all that he's set up to do.

A truly heavyweight retirement party takes place as all The Kremlin Demons say goodbye to the long-time mainstay of the team, the towering Leonide "40" Sorokin, but for now everybody's too drunk to say anything more on the subject. They'll probably sober up next month.
