Round 1
"5 Foot Taquito" fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Whelan to the cage. Whelan swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. A kimura attempt is defended well by Mau Acosta and he is able to sneak his leg through "The Real Deals" loose guard, to half guard. Mau slams his knee into Whelans ribs. Mark hits an upward elbow on Mau, and attempts to get to full guard. During the scramble though Mau takes side control. Mau wraps the arm of Mark Whelan behind his back and traps it. Mau pounds away with shots to the face. Acosta wraps the arm of "The Real Deal" behind his back and traps it. Acosta pounds away with shots to the face. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Round 2
After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Mark Whelan works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. "The Real Deal" grabs the plum and pulls Maus face towards a powerful knee which is blocked. "The Real Deal" lets go of the hold and lands a hook. Mark Whelan circles Mau Acosta, landing jabs at will. Mark Whelan throws a teep backing "5 Foot Taquito" off. Mark throws a teep backing Acosta off. "The Real Deal" catches a leg kick and fires a hard punch to the head dropping "5 Foot Taquito". Mau thrusts his leg into Marks knee while grounded.Round 2 comes to a close.

Round 3
Mark lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Mau. After dodging a jab-cross, Mark lands a kick to the liver of "5 Foot Taquito" who steps back and begins to take a knee. Mark rushes forward to capitalize but "5 Foot Taquito" stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Mark shuffles away from Acostas strikes and lands a powerful chopping kick to the lead leg. Mau backs away, obviously feeling the affects of the kick. Mark Whelan connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Both fighters trade shots and back away looking for the next opening. Whelan lands a strong outside leg kick that buckles Acosta. Whelan then switch kicks Acosta on the opposing rib. Round 3 is finished.

Round 4
Mau connects with a right that puts Mark off balance tumbling to the mat, as Mau towers over him. Mau stands over Mark, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Mark is able to grab an arm and pull Mau into his guard. Acosta dodges a few strikes from Whelan and lands an overhand and a elbow. Acosta drops a few strong punches, opening up "The Real Deals" guard, giving him a chance to pass to mount. "The Real Deal" attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Whelan gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Mau Acosta lays into Whelan with some strong shots forcing Whelan to give up mount position. Acosta maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. Round 4 is finished.

Round 5
After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Whelan directs the head of Acosta leading to a stiff knee to the face. Mark takes the back of "5 Foot Taquito" who works for a kimura. Mark pulls his arm out of the hold and push "5 Foot Taquito" away. Mark lands multiple inside leg kicks that have Acosta circling away. "5 Foot Taquito" winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Acosta circles Mark Whelan, landing jabs and crosses at will. Mark connects with a right that puts Mau Acosta off balance tumbling to the mat, as Mark towers over him. "The Real Deal" lays into Acostas thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. "5 Foot Taquito" does so. Round 5 is over.
