Round 1 Du Plessis circles Munakata, landing jabs and crosses at will. Munakata is hit with a jab and then taken down by a beautiful single-leg takedown. Munakata throws a couple of chop shots but "Ozymandias" returns with vicious ground and pound. Christopher drops some elbows from guard, giving him a brief moment to switch over to side control. Christopher attempts an armbar, but Yukio stops the attempt. Christopher uses the oppurtunity to take mount. "Ozymandias" punishes Yukio Munakata with a series of strikes from the mount. Munakata pulls his leg out from under "Ozymandias" and gets back to half guard. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Christopher Du Plessis connects with a strong right hook. A wild hook from Yukio Munakata is ducked by Du Plessis who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. Yukio Munakata is hit with a jab taken down by a beautiful single-leg takedown. Christopher Du Plessis is able to push to half guard. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Christopher fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Munakata. Christopher Du Plessis lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. While tied up, Yukio is met with a hard uppercut. Both fighters begin to exchange Christopher catches Munakata with an eye poke. The referee calls time and lets Munakata gather himself. Munakata says he is ok and the fight continues. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. A welt begins to form under Yukios eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Christopher Du Plessis. Yukio Munakata presses forward and grazes Christopher Du Plessis with a combo. Christopher Du Plessis wants none of the stand up and clinches with Yukio Munakata to then savagely throw him down to the ground. "Ozymandias" lays into Yukios thighs with some well timed kicks while Munakata is grounded. Round 3 comes to a close.
Round 4 Christopher Du Plessis connects with a hard punch making Munakata bring him in to a tight clinch. Munakata throws a solid knee to the jaw of Du Plessis. Yukio Munakata breaks away from the clinch while delivering a knee. Yukio leaps in for a flying triangle attempt but is shoved off and lands hard on his butt. Christopher stands over Munakata, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. Munakata is able to grab an arm and pull Christopher into his guard. "Ozymandias" takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Yukios guard. It doesn't pay off as Yukio makes his way to standing. A shot is side stepped by Yukio but quick reflexes and footwork lead to a second attempt that takes down Yukio. Du Plessis settles into his guard. Du Plessis dodges a few strikes from Munakata and cuts him open with a couple of powerful elbows. Yukio Munakata bucks Christopher Du Plessis off and scrambles into his guard. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 5 Christopher Du Plessis catches a leg kick from Yukio Munakata, and puts him on the mat. Christopher frees a leg and moves into half guard. Yukio Munakata holds the head of "Ozymandias" close to avoid shots. "Ozymandias" slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Du Plessis presses his foot onto the thigh of Yukio Munakata to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. Yukio Munakata takes a few knees to the body while under "Ozymandiass" side control. "Ozymandias" postures up and lands a couple of strong elbows to the head of Yukio. Yukio rolls away from "Ozymandias" but "Ozymandias" follows him and takes his back. The round comes to an end.
