Round 1 Choshi steps forward and executes a small inner recap, falling into Beau Mitchells guard. "Run for Cover" drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Koji Choshi sits up in Beaus open guard and spins to an leg lock. Mitchell is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Beau Mitchell winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. The fighters circle each other. Koji connects with a hard right hand putting Beau Mitchell on the mat. Koji goes down with him into side control. Beau Mitchell almost switches side control around, but falls short at the last moment. Beau sweeps over Choshi and quickly obtains mount position. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 A trip to the ground allows Koji to move into the guard of Beau. Beau Mitchell is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. Choshi sits up in Beaus open guard and spins to an leg lock. Beau Mitchell is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. "Run for Cover" keeps Mitchell at a distance with some well timed jabs. Koji Choshi rushes in grabbing an overhook. He then shoots his opposite arm beneath the overhook, falls back and tumbles, cartwheeling Beau through the air with a beautiful japanese whizzer and takes side control. Koji lands a few stiff elbows from side control. "Run for Cover" postures up and lands a couple of strong elbows to the head of Mitchell. Mitchell rolls away from "Run for Cover" but "Run for Cover" follows him and takes his back. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 "Run for Cover" is staggered by a jab to the chin. Beau hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Beau connects with a series of punches forcing Koji Choshi into a clinch. "Run for Cover" attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Mitchell pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Choshi. Mitchell stands up, lifting the leg of Choshi and executing a trip takedown. Beau sits up in Kojis open guard and spins to an leg lock. "Run for Cover" is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Mitchell presses forward and is able to jump up and grab onto Koji Choshi, aggressively pulling guard. Beau powers out sweeping "Run for Cover" with pure strength. Beau is now in side control. Beau Mitchell throws his knee into the ribs of "Run for Cover". Beau puts pressure on top of Koji Choshi while in side control. Beau slides his arm underneath the head of his opponent and clasps his hands together. Beau puts pressure on the neck of Koji Choshi and cranks. Koji Choshi taps out.
