Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Jon Allen gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Russ Barnes attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Jon Allen pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. Jon stuffs a shot from Russ and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Two large hammerfists forces Barnes to attempt to shift away from Jon Allen which give Jon Allen the opportunity to move to half guard. Russ tries to scramble out of half guard, but Jon Allen takes his back during it. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Allen works Russ into the cage, swimming for double underhooks. Allen presses his head into Russs chest, forcing him to the ground. Barnes is caught in a can opener and opens his guard. He lands two quick strikes but Allen transitions to half guard. Allen slams his knee into Barness ribs. Allen presses his foot onto the thigh of Russ Barnes to get his own foot free. He successfully releases his leg and moves to side control. Russ takes a few knees to the body while under Jons side control. Jon lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Round 2 comes to a close.
Round 3 A wild hook from Barnes is ducked by Allen who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. "The Man" tries to hyperextend the knee of Russ Barnes with a kick to the kneecap. Russ Barnes hops back to avoid it. Jon moves in to press the action, but Barnes lands a heavy back kick. Allen connects with numerous jabs to the face of Russ. Allen connects with a strong right hook. Barnes throws a cross that easily dodged by Jon Allen. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 4 Jon connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. Allen takes a punch to the jaw. He drops his hands and asks Russ to hit him harder. Jon Allen snaps back the head of Barnes with a stiff jab. Barnes hits an uppercut to the head of Jon Allen followed by a hard hook. Jon takes a punch while shooting but executes the takedown and ends up in Barness guard. A couple of hard outside strikes opens up Russs guard and Allen is able to move to half guard. Jon Allen is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Barnes bucks off Jon Allen and sweeps him over taking side control. Round 4 is finished.
Round 5 "The Man" hits a lead uppercut and follows with a hard hook to the head of Russ. Jon Allen lands a double jab. A shot from Jon is countered by a guillotine from Barnes. Jon follows through with a slam that stuns Barnes. Jon lands multiple hammerfists, putting Barnes to sleep.
