Round 1 Powell connects with a hard punch making "Cock Tease" bring him in to a tight clinch. "Johnson" works to Vernons back while standing. "Johnson" throws a couple of outside shots until "Cock Tease" is able to work his way back to the clinch. "Johnson" takes McDaniels back standing. McDaniel isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but "Johnson" lands a sharp shovel punch that forces McDaniel to release. Ahamad Powell blocks a strong high kick from Vernon and counters with a devastating left hook. The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Vernon dives in for a takedown but the momentum of the attempt ends in a scramble back to their feet.Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Ahamad parries a jab but leaves himself open for an uppercut. Vernon McDaniel plows through Ahamad Powell with a driving double leg takedown. "Johnson" begins to posture on his side. McDaniel lands a couple of outside hooks and "Johnson" returns to the guard. Vernon McDaniel distracts Powell with some peppering shots. Vernon McDaniel then isolates a leg and falls back into a achilles lock. Powell is able to force his way out of it but gives up half guard in the ensuing scramble. "Johnson" holds the head of Vernon McDaniel close to avoid shots. Vernon McDaniel slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Vernon McDaniel tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. "Cock Tease" attempts to sink a neck crank from half guard. It does not appear to be tight enough as Ahamad gives a thumbs up to the referee until he finally struggles out. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 "Cock Tease" fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Powell. An attempt at a clinch takedown from Vernon is defended well by "Johnson". Vernon grabs an overhook, steps to the side to land two haymaker body shots, then an uppercut. Vernon returns to the clinch. Ahamad Powell fakes a shot attempt from the clinch, opening Vernon up for a flurry of hooks. Vernon connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Ahamad Powell. Vernon connects with a strong right hook. Ahamad connects with a hard jab as Vernon attempts a wide outside hook. A looping right hook from McDaniel sends Ahamad Powell to the mat. Vernon lays into Ahamad Powell with some stomps. Ahamad Powell can't handle it as the ref stops the fight.
